Thanks. This is a good start for fixing the appearance manually. I
still think that a kind of `second pass', as described in another
mail, is the right solution to go.
Another problem related to good spacing here is issue #462: Invisible
barlines currently take some horizontal space which they shouldn't do
because they are just a kind of markers for line breaking, nothing
else.
And here the next question. How to do this:

As you can see, the change between mono-rhythmic and bi-rhythmic
should happen in the middle of a staff...
Fortunately, this is not a showstopper for me right now because my
mono-rhythmic stuff is long enough to make the necessary change happen
on a new system, but this might not be the general case.
