Uh, you have a point there.I stumbled across this just on Tuesday while answering on the "Moving an espressivo sign" thread - with the inverse problem - and decided it might be worth to keep in mind. I'm sorry I can't remember the exact position, but IIRC it is mentioned somewhere as the default value of 'staff-priority or 'outside-staff-priority for an articulation Script attached to a note.
By the way - is there a way to output all (current or default) known properties of an object? Like \dump-properties Voice . Slur? This would be a _really_ useful thingie to have...
