When I modify the example from Notation 2.7.2 as below (adding "music
=") and compile in LilyPond 2.13.13, I get the chord names below the
staff, plus a lot of:
warning: staff-affinities should only decrease
Though it may be useful to have the chord names below the staff, I'm
not sure why it happens. Because of the lyrics, the chord names should
be normally be above the staff.
music = \new Staff <<
\chords { c2 g:sus4 f e }
\relative c'' {
a4 e c8 e r4
b2 c4( d)
}
\addlyrics { One day this shall be free __ }
>>
\score {
\music
\layout {}
}
\score {
\unfoldRepeats \music
\midi {}
}
