I think we still want enough 'minimum-distance to the lower staff
so that Lyrics are always a little closer to the Staff they are
associated with, than they are to the next lower staff. Is that
what you intended, or do people reading choral music like to have
lyrics centered between the two staves?
There isn't a single answer to this question:
If the lyrics are common to the staff above and the staff below, the
single lyric line is usually centred between them. In this case
there would normally be only two vocal staves and the dynamics would
be placed above the higher and below the lower staff.
But if each staff has its own lyrics each lyric line would be placed
underneath and closer to the related staff, with all dynamics placed
above their staff.
