Further follow up - this is different from
2.12.3. That version beams all six notes in the bar together, for both
bars. 2.12.36 beams the first bar as 3 groups and the second bar as a
single group of six notes.

Ralph - it's not that - the penultimate note in
the first bar is dotted, so it does add up to a whole bar. I think this
is what's going on - the beaming rules change when the all the note values in
a bar aren't the same. We need a beaming rules expert to step
forward.

Perhaps it's because of your incomplete
first measure (1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 + 1/8 +
1/16).
