Rereading the code I'm not convinced about my brilliance:
Please delete `Score.' from.
\override Score.Beam #'beam-segments = ...
And perhaps I should have used ly:spanner-broken-into instead of
comparing the left-bound, if you encounter problems I'll try to change
it.

Well, you can find 'beam-segments in the IR. Though, I've never seen
it overridden before. ;)
