While I cannot run lilypond from my iPad I have done a LOT of editing of
ly files on my iPad. I use Dropbox as my file repository (all of my
compositions are there). If I'm in a situation where the iPad is useful,
I use Textastic as my editor. It connects to Dropbox so I can upload to
Textastic to edit and then download to Dropbox. What's nice about this
is that I do not have to have net connectivity to edit. I only need the
connectivity to upload/download. What is truly great is that Textastic
understands lilypond formatting and does syntax highlighting! I've
attached a screenshot to show what that looks like with a dark theme. If
you do remote editing, or have need occasionally to do so (I mainly use
it for the 30 minute bussride to work during the winter) this will do
well for you.
