Dear Lilypond community,

I am relatively new to LilyPond and computing using command line, etc.  I have been trying to experiment with creating a LaTeX document incorporating Lilypond via the lilypond-book feature, but I am running into problems.

Why not have a look at Lyx, which makes it all fairly easy. The Lyx installation includes an example file showing the embedding of Lilypond code in a Lyx document - on my system the example file is /usr/share/lyx/examples/lilypond.lyx
