\startTrillSpan without the tr at the beginning?

I'm trying to typeset a fairly common 18th sign that looks a bit like an
extended prall but less jagged (see attached).
The \startTrillSpan would do at a pinch if I could get rid of the "tr"
at the start of it.
I don't see this in the docs - any help?
