That's always been the case. It's the manner in which the namespaces
for normal variables/music functions and for markup commands can be told
apart as there are a number of colliding names.
Yes, it's not all that fabulous. In particular, there will be no
make-bold-red-markup function or (markup #:bold-red ...) in that manner.
