it’s somewhat difficult to help without code example. You write about a drum staff, but the image has a normal staff. Anyway: If both the voices contain the dynamics, they are of course going to be printed twice. Normally, they’d be printed on opposite sides of the staff, though – perhaps you used \stemUp and \stemDown to differentiate the voices, instead of the more appropriate \voiceOne and \voiceTwo?
