Apart from upcase-issues,

m = { e4 e f g g f e d c c d e e4. d8 d2 r2 }
\new Staff { \clef bass \m }
\new Staff { \clef bass \transpose c f, \m }

works perfectly fine.

Obviously I miss the point.
