Before asking this question I tried googling but without success. If I understand correctly David,  the key was to search for "snippet", isn't it?

Depensing on your use case it may be worth mentioning that you can do that in Frescobaldi also: when you have selected multiple notes and add something through the Quick Entry palette it is applied to all selected notes.
