Second your thanks to Wilbert: it's possible to code LilyPond without Fresco, but not nearly as easily or as much fun. I'm runningĀ Fresco 3.0 is this environment ( from Help/About/Version of Fresco): Frescobaldi: 3.0.0 Python: 3.5.2 python-ly: 0.9.5 Qt: 5.5.1 PyQt: 5.5.1 sip: 4.17 poppler: 0.41.0 python-poppler-qt: 0.24.2 OS: Linux-4.4.0-62-generic-x86_64-with-LinuxMint-18-sarah
I cloned the github repos for python-ly and python-poppler-qt, as well as the master, and I just now ran git pull -r on all three, then went into the utilities and did sudo python setup.py build and install for each, per the Install docs. I made sure to do them *before* building/installing Frescobaldi, and all seems just as fine as ever.
