Notating Rhythms

Dear Friends;

due to a special requirement, I have to insert a staff into a score which only
contains one line instead of five (as it is offered by percussion-style in
DrumStaff drummode), but which then takes normal notes with the normal lengths
(but without a dedicated height). 

Does anyone have an idea how I could solve this requirement? Unfortunately, the
percussion notation in the notation reference is a bit erratic for me.
