I tried doing a speed test myself, but hit

After correcting my stupid mistake, I got
pdfTeX:
real 21m43,063s
user 117m52,570s
sys 17m24,881s
LuaTeX:
real 21m14,749s
user 119m56,990s
sys 17m52,780s
N.B. This is with -j9 CPU_COUNT=9 and without
extractpdfmark. Also without the GS API (the CI
builds do use the GS API, which should speed
up the build by a constant amount that does not
depend on the TeX engine).
I am surprised that the difference is that small
(on the user time values, 2 minutes over 2 hours).
For me, this is completely acceptable.
