Hello,
I just uploaded a simple command line UI to the CVS, with which you can test
some basic loco features:
- start a new tree
- connect to that tree
- excange messages over the protocol
The tree is actually not a real tree yet it's more of a list and encryption is
not implemeted yet, because the use of 1,2,3 as keys instead of real gpg keys is
has some advantages for debugging but that's the next step.
The client in not really impressive, but you can play around with it a little
and report bugs or send patches to me or better to this list.
To compile the program (libloco and loco-msg) you need cons (a make
replacement). If the pathes are set correctly, typing "cons" in the loco dir
should compile everything. You also need a glib >= 1.3 (not to be confused with
the libc). You also need libpopt (with development files) which does some neat
command line argument parsing. loco-msg --help will show you documentation for
the parameters. In the client you can use "help" to see what commands are
possible.
I hope the future progress of our project will be faster than it was until now
(we started loco in November 2001). But having something visible to work with
might help.
I will try to finish a (rough) documentation of the structure of loco and what
the goals of our project are.
So long
Divo
