MPW and MacLout

Some time ago it was suggested on this list that it was trivial to port
Lout to the unixoid Macintosh programming environment MPW. This would
allow one to compile Lout documents while remaining in the Mac OS
environment with access to useful Mac tools like the editor BBEdit.

Now that MPW 3.4.2 has been made freely available at

it would be nice if someone who has actually done this could post a
brief account of how the port was accomplished.
