Automagical re-running of lout?

Hi,

just having an idea: would it be possible to get into lout another
option, that it would re-run itself when only "Unressolved
cross-references" occurs?

Starting to play with some XML to Lout conversion, the goal is to
process XML file with something like "xml2lout < something.xml | lout |
gzip -9c > something.ps.gz". However, the problem is, that you have to
rerun lout sometime, when cross-references (and other stuff) are
involved and this colon-use is therefore not possible.

Would it be possible to add some option (e.g., -r like --rerun) with
paramter maxrun (to prevent endless loop when some real error occurs and
with default value, let's say, 2) to enable lout in colon?

What about this idea??

        Have a nice day

                                Matthew
