Many thanks to both David Duffy and Joe Beach. When the replies came,
I tried it again with no trouble at all. I do apologise.
The problem was actually caused by an old lout.li file. Whenever I get
an unexplained problem, I remove lout.li* and try again - if I can
remember - and this time I forgot!
