You can build any kernel in ltib if you get the source and then use the
"Local Linux directory build" option.  This mean you need to find a
suitable kernel and then install it somewhere first.

Someone posted on the list a week or two ago about how they got 2.6.21
working for the 8349 (see the archive), I don't think this needed any
additional patches.  One thing to remember ARCH=powerpc not ARCH=ppc.
For ltib this means you first have to install an updated linux.config
file into the BSP directory to use.

If you want to integrate your new kernel into LTIB then there are some
hints in doc/LtibBestPractices and doc/LtibFaq

For information on u-boot you need to ask on the u-boot mailing list.
