Hi Linux_newbie (?),
Exactly how you do this depends on the particular eval board you have.
However some general ideas can be found (for u-boot) by looking in:
config/platform/mpc8349itx/deployment_instructions.txt
Alternatively you can google this as deployment is a general question.
Denx (http://www.denx.de/wiki/DULG/WebHome) has some good documentation.
