Follow-up Comment #6, bug #11400 (project lwip): Bad news: My patch does not seem to work. It somehow still breaks pbufs... This seems to need some attention... I think it would be best to go back to the old code (only one packet in queue) and leave the new code in the file (surrounded by #if NEW_ARP_QUEUEING or something to be able to switch between the two solutions).
