Follow-up Comment #4:

I have study the code, and the patch seems good. In the worst case, it
increase a little bit the footprint (but just one function call). I have read
the sourceforge forum link given in bug#17726, but most are specific to
FreeRTOS.

So, I close the record, since, the patch was already check in...
