Follow-up Comment #23, bug #27049 (project lwip): Patch attached. Unfortunately I am not currently set up to test it. The patch reuses XIDs for retransmissions as discussed. In order to do this, I have slightly changed the dhcp state machine behaviour when dhcp_create_request() returns a memory error. I actually think the new behaviour is better - the state machine now treats out-of-memory errors the same as a lost packet. Bill, could I ask you to test this patch with 5 devices, please?
