Follow-up Comment #17:

The internal backlog should be OK I think.

The external 'delayed/accepted' mechanism might really get inconsistent. I'll
have to think about a fix. Setting 'listener' to NULL in 'accepted' doesn't
seem right, as it is already used internally. Plus the listener pointer might
(in future?) be used for other stuff...
