reality check here

the last time i tried eCos TCP/IP i got 300 bytes per second
on their TCP/IP stack using my 25Mhz ARM board.

thats 300 *BYTES* per second, not KILObytes or MEGAbytes.

and it crashes whenever it feels like it. its terrible.

this was end of last year. lwIP rules IMO.
