The problem is that I try to connect to a GPRS APN (Orange) using PPP, so I 
cannot configure the server side.
It seems that this APN wants to use Protocol Field Compression and 
Address/Control Field Compression. Does LWIP PPP support these options ? I 
think so but I'm not sure.

I saw that happen when directly connecting to a PPP server on my linux box 
(via a serial lead). It's appears to be caused by bad handling of unsupported 
compression options during the PPP setup phase (the solution I used was to 
disable those compression schemes at the server end).
