I can't answer your question, but the git head code is probably more
stable than 1.4.1
The developers are working on IPv6 integration and patches for bug
fixes. If you need PPP or IPv6 then definitely git head is quite better
than 1.4.1.
One of them will probably drop by and comment, afaik the main course of
action is IPv6 integration and there are some concerns on the
documentation and the contrib tree. There is no deadline, afaik.
