Follow-up Comment #2, sr #107199 (project maposmatic):

Same as other language modules, removes common prefixes such as "ул.",
"пер.", "бульвар" and puts them to the end of street name with added
parentheses.

There are no other fancy features in russian street names, such as "-de-"
joining word and accents on letters (only "ё" letter, but it is very rare at
first letter, never seen streets starting with it).

The only problem that many russian street names are names of some people, and
better to be included in index by first and second name, for example "ул.
Яна Крастыня" will be better to be included to index both by "Я"
and "К" letters, but it will require large list of names to lookup. It is
currently not implemented.
