Hi All,

Bob Edwards and I have started teaching a course on FOSS development
at the Australian National University in Canberra. We have just
completed the 5 day intensive part of the 2009 course, and it went
very well.

If anyone is interested in any of the course material, it is available
from the course website at
All of the course material (including videos of all the lectures) is
released under a creative commons license.

The students are now putting together their assignments, which are due
on the 22nd of May. All the feedback I have received from the students
so far was very positive - most had never done any free software
development prior to the course, and many had never used a free OS of
any sort. By the end of the week they had all started to engage with a
free software project of their choice, and several had had patches

We're planning to run the same course again next year, but I'm also
hoping some other universities might pick up the course material and
teach similar courses in other places.

Cheers, Tridge
