Hi all Mibblers,

I'm writing to you to inform you of several recent
changes to Mibble. The first, and most important, is a
license change to GNU GPL; the second is a new Mibble
web site; and the third is the new Mibble 2.4 release.

***

The license for future versions of Mibble has been
changed from the previous GNU GPL + exception to a plain
GNU GPL. This change does not affect previous versions,
but all future releases (including 2.4) will be issued
under the GNU GPL. If you have any questions regarding
what this means for you, please check the license FAQ:

http://www.mibble.org/doc/license_faq.html

I've decided to make this change in order to cover my
development, maintenance and support costs for Mibble.
Commercial licenses will be available for sale to
organizations developing non-free software and thus
unable to use the GNU GPL. If you have any questions or
concerns regarding this change, feel free to write to
this list or directly to me.

***

A new Mibble web site is available at:

http://www.mibble.org/

Currently this site is mostly identical to the one over
at www.nongnu.org, but in time I'll be adding searchable
support forums, improved documentation and similar. This
move has been motivated by several factors, not least of
which has been the large problems over at GNU Savannah
(hosting the old web site).

***

A new version 2.4 of Mibble is available:

http://www.mibble.org/download/

This version features improved MIB file searching,
automatic recovery of some common errors, and simplified
symbol lookup by OID. See the full version history for
more details (still at www.nongnu.org):

http://www.nongnu.org/mibble/doc/version.html

***

Many thanks to you all for your continued use and
support of Mibble!

Cheers,

/Per
