I have a similar problem but I'm getting even less information:
Your system supports 1024 file descriptors
Segmentation fault

As you can surely guess I'd appreciate some hint...

If you need more information about my system don't hesitate

The daemon is still running in same directory

but the gui has problems to start:

"Speicherzugriffsfehler" Means error while accessing 
memory. Thats german =)

Using rh73 and the gtk delivired with rh73.
if i can help u, pls tell me. but i cant write 
programs in calm.
Maybe i am doing something wrong?!
