Summary:  GPL compatibility issues

Original Submission:  The supplied bytecode file donkey/donkey.lam seems not to 
comply with GPL license.

Yes, there is no space to argue here. The GPLed source of mldonkey core uses a 
not GPLed library, not the contrary. eDonkey support is a PLUGIN for mldonkey 
core, and, as other plugins (see GIMP for example), it is not forced to be GPL.

I could move the client.lam file to another WEB site, requiring users to 
download it before compiling mldonkey. I think it is more convenient for users 
to have it in the repository.

The eDonkey part is based on the (GPLed!) mldonkey core, thus forced to be GPL. 
Not much space to argue here.

So what ? Everything else is GPL, except the client.lam file .

mldonkey is:
- a client for eDonkey, partially GPL.
- a client for other networks, completely GPL.
- a GUI for mldonkey, completely GPL.
- + some chat programs, CDDB utilities, completely GPL.

I will modify the LICENSE file to explain that the lam file is not GPL. The 
main interest of GPL is that you can re-use all source files of mldonkey, 
except the client.lam file, which is less than 5% of the provided sources.
