Ok, it seems that I misinterpreted max_source_age. Sorry for the
misunderstanding.
The problem, however, still exists: Sometimes, some of my downloads are removed
from my list of downloads. I assume there is an expiration date if the file can
not be downloaded for xx days (I thought this was max_source_age, but it seems
to be hardcoded).
When this expiration occurs (i.e. the download "dissappears"), the temporary
download file (named after the md4 hash) still remains in the temp directory.
If I then start a new query and click on "download selected files", it is not
added to the download list, because mldonkey thinks it is already being
downloaded.

Summary: Temp-file not removed when download expires (max_source_age)

Original Submission: When a download source expires after max_source_age days
(as set in download.ini), the file is removed from the download queue but NOT
from the temp directory.

So you cannot try another attempt before removing it manually.

I am using mldonkey 1.16 on SuSE Linux 7.3

I don't understand. A file is not removed after max_source_age. Max_source_age
is used to remove old sources for file, not the file itself.
