Summary:  When restarting linux, some downloaded bytes get lost.

Original Submission:  I am downloading very big file 2.9 GB. It is taking days. 
I shutdown my linux over night. Then this problem happens. I downloaded for 
example 2.2GB, and next morning when I turn on my machine, I see only 1.9GB. 
The file I try to download is Bittorrent.
