Category: Core
Severity: 5 - Average
Item Group: None
Resolution: None
Assigned to: None
Status: Closed
Release: None
Release: CVS as of 10/9/2003
Platform Version: Mac OS X Jaguar
Binaries Origin: Compiled From CVS
Summary: "priority" doesn't work or could be enhanced
Original Submission: In an attempt to prefer almost-finished files over
yet-a-lot-to-download files I tried to sort them by setting priorities.
priority 30 for the most finished file, 29 for the second and so on.
After setting priorities and restarting mlnet, priorities are shown correctly
within the web interface.
However, they don't appear to make any difference. Find attached screenshots
for two files, both taken a few minutes after restarting mlnet and with both
files started downloading long time before. While the file with the higher
priority is still unfinished, download began for the file with lower priority
while the download source has both files "in stock".
Perhaps, it's just a limitaiton. Before requesting a specific file, mlnet
should ask a source wether one of the files with higher priority is available
as well and ask for this file, first.
