I saw this too and I found out that (in my case at least) it was due
to an optimization option in CXXFLAGS. Things worked fine when I
compiled with just -O.

do you know which optimization setting was causing problems? I know so far that CXXFLAGS needs --fno-strict-aliasing to permit most optimizations to work correctly on cryptopp code. is there something else?
