I forgot that, sorry:
$ gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 3.3.4 20040623 (Gentoo Linux 3.3.4-r1, ssp-3.3.2-2, pie-8.7.6)
and
glibc: 2.3.4
May the memory problem be due to the architecture or because a
broken installation? As I said, in the x86 chrooted environment,
it runs fine.
