Ah, based on getting some more information from IRC, I can reproduce
this:
$ monotone --db=monotone.db checkout 5afdb64555d17365c9bd45fc16657c08bb8d9446
dir
$ cd dir
$ monotone diff -r e4675069c18a78f06a62a85c33d73e5562065f5d
monotone: fatal: std::logic_error: ../src/change_set.cc:342: invariant
'I(isect.empty())' violated

monotone: this is almost certainly a bug in monotone.
monotone: please send this error message, the output of 'monotone
--full-version',
monotone: and a description of what you were doing to address@hidden
monotone: wrote debugging log to MT/debug
No more time to look at this tonight, but could you file this as a bug
on savannah so we don't forget it?

comets; feeble contrivance; could make a better one myself.
