Hmm, a different idea is to offer globbing AND regexps.  Regexps being
for "more advanced" users could require adding the no-argument option
--regexp or --re, basically telling monotone what to expect.
Something like this:

        monotone --regexp pull host 'net\.venge\.monotone($|.+)'
