Hi there.
Each time I decide to version a binary or executable file I wonder: is
there a specific reason to put the attributes in a .mt-attrs file in the
same directory of the referenced file instead of, as an example, storing
it in the MT/ directory, a location that (at least to me) seem more
'natural' (aka "all monotone control files in the same place") and more
'hidden' from the user.
Is the only reason that this way it is versioned more easily "like any
other file"?
Being in the same directory as the file it references to doesn't seems a
significative "pro" to me, unless you use some implicit scheme of
tracking file/directory moves (like TLA does, as an example).
I don't mean to say that it is better or worse, I just wonder the reason
behind that choice =)
