Of course this, being usable only for .dump and not in SELECTs, is not
a full solution... but I guess asking nicely upstream to "expose" the
already-present print-it-in-X'-format function such as something like
this could be done, would be a lot more flexible.
Or, at least, correcting this, whicih I would call a bug:
sqlite> CREATE TABLE a(b);
sqlite> INSERT INTO a VALUES (X'1200AB');
sqlite> SELECT * FROM A;
sqlite> .mode insert
sqlite> SELECT * FROM A;
INSERT INTO table VALUES('');
The first result is expected (I asked to pring it straight, after
all), but the second should definitely produce something valid, such
as .dump does, IMHO.
I will definitely ask them about it. =)
(should be a no-brainer, I guess...)
