Yes, but this was an NMU on Debian's side, so the 0.25-0.x syntax is
strongly suggested.  Perhaps the package should be co-maintained at
Debian's side, to avoid future NMUs.

I think that is a good idea. Perhaps this should be a group effort, we have enough debian people here to do such a thing on the monotone side (although not all of us are DDs).
