Sebastian Rose just pointed me to a glitch in the tarball release which
unfortunately required the existence of monotone _and_ a monotone
workspace to work properly (eek!) - this has been fixed in mainline and
a new tarball (which should now hopefully work) has been uploaded as well.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks again to Sebastian!
