I've just tried Nano on
$ uname -a
SunOS [foo] 5.7 Generic sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-5
$ gcc --version
2.95.2
I had to use ./configure --disable-mouse. Anyway, it works fine. Did you
try compiling with --enable-tiny? If that works better, you could see if
using one of the --disable options helps.
