[Nano-devel] line numbering

hello,

are there any plans or efforts to include line numbering along the
lefthand edge of the screen in nano?

if not, i would like to give it a try.

it appears that many users of nano would like to see such a feature.
what is the general opinion (among developers) on adding line
numbering to nano?
