Strange: in an earlier message you said that Ctrl+Delete worked fine
for you (deleting a word) on a Linux console. And now it doesn't?
Of course it doesn't, because you made no change for it to work,
even though I told you where to make the change. :|
Anyway, the upcoming patch has the two-liner added, plus some
minor reshufflings and a reworded commit message. Please check
whether you are okay with it.
