Same here for my three machines: Xubuntu 18.04, Manjaro, wattOS.

[But on LXTerminal (0.2.0) and Pantheon Terminal (0.2.4.1),
<Ctrl+Backspace> produces the same code as <Backspace>, so
there is no way bind the former to cutwordleft and leave the
latter bound to backspace on those terminals.]
