Yes, I have considered assigning M-? also to 'cutwordleft', to give
users the ability to choose the keystroke they like best.  But... if
later we want/need another keystroke for something else...  Better
just unassign it, right?

And anyway, the M-? keystroke is not listed in the help text by default
any more, so people are unlikely to know about it.
